This coveted silence
Is so rare I do not know
What I plan to do.
It hums in a sort of rhythm
With which I am unfamiliar.
I sit here,
Scribbling in vain,
Trying to note what I cannot note
On paper,
Trying to grasp what I cannot grasp
As it reverberates in my chest,
Like the djembe drums
From Masten Ave.
Just last night,
A friend quoted:
Attempt something so big that unless God intervenes, it is sure to fail.
I shout it into the air and let it surround me!
Like the sound of ocean waves,
It repeats itself,
And is never quite resolved.
